In this retreat, we will explore Welcoming, Service, Inquiry, and other aspects of the spiritual path through the famous Ten Ox Herding Pictures and their accompanying poems. Taishin is a Soto Zen Buddhist Priest in the Phoenix Cloud lineage of Kobun Chino Otogawa Roshi.
Retreat Format: Alternating periods of quiet sitting and walking meditation, engaging presentations, and interactive discussions.
Retreat Times: June 7, 10am—4:30pm; June 8, 9am-3:30pm.
Vegetarian lunches provided, as are meditation mats, cushions, benches, and chairs.
Retreat Fee:
- Full Price: $120 (covers both days)
- Subsidized Price: $80. Financial support to meet need is available upon request via email.
Retreat fees cover both days. No "single day" rate. Fee includes retreat materials and two lunches. Saturday retreat dinner is at one’s own expense.
Residential Fee:
- Semi-private room accommodation is available for $80
- Private room accommodation is $120 (single) or $140 (couple).
Residential fees cover the nights of Friday and Saturday, June 6-7 and include continental breakfasts on June 7-8. No “single night” rate.
Center of Solitude Patrons receive a 25% discount on all fees.
Space is limited to 14 retreatants and 6 overnight accommodations.
